Airtel has introduced a special Friendship Day campaign for its millions of users.
Instead of sending a simple greeting message, customers can now turn a prepaid recharge into a personalized Friendship Day gift.
To celebrate Friendship Day on August 2, Airtel is allowing users to recharge a friend’s Airtel prepaid number and send a digital friendship band along with it.
The feature is available through the Airtel app and will remain active until August 2, 2026.
How to Send a Digital Friendship Band
According to a TelecomTalk report, the process is simple. Open the Airtel app, enter your friend’s Airtel prepaid number, choose a recharge plan,
and complete the payment. After the recharge, you can pick a digital friendship band and send it to your friend.
Instead of using a single design, Airtel offers different friendship band themes based on different types of friendships, making the gift feel more personal.

Meme Dealer
Gedi Partner
Foodie Friends
The Gossip Spiller
Free Therapist
Each theme is designed to match a different friendship style.
Share Through WhatsApp or SMS
After selecting a friendship band, users can instantly share it through WhatsApp or SMS.
The recipient receives the selected digital friendship band along with a Friendship Day greeting.
If the band is shared through SMS, users can also include the sender’s name in the greeting, making the message more personal.
After receiving the greeting, friends are encouraged to continue the celebration by sending a digital friendship band to someone else through the campaign page, helping spread Friendship Day wishes from one friend to another.
