People planning to visit Delhi’s Jantar Mantar this weekend may have to spend more on travel.

Although Sonam Wangchuk has ended his fast, protests by the Cockroach Janata Party are continuing at Jantar Mantar.

Since it is the weekend, a larger crowd is expected to gather.

To manage the situation, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has closed 18 metro stations around Jantar Mantar and the Parliament area.

Metro Closures Push Up Cab Prices

With several nearby metro stations shut, many people are turning to online cab services to reach Jantar Mantar. As demand for rides has increased, companies like Ola, Uber, and Rapido are charging higher fares.

Ride-hailing apps usually increase prices when demand is high and the number of available vehicles is low. This is known as surge pricing, where fares automatically go up during busy hours or special events.

How You Can Save on Travel

If you are coming from Ghaziabad, Noida, or Gurugram, consider taking the Delhi Metro as far as the nearest open station. From there, you can book an auto or cab for the remaining distance.

This option may help reduce travel costs compared to booking a cab for the entire journey, especially during periods of high demand. However, the final fare will depend on traffic conditions and surge pricing at the time of booking.
