State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an alert for customers about a short service disruption.

Due to scheduled maintenance on April 11, 2026, OTP-based services may not work smoothly for a brief period.

The disruption is expected between 2:30 am and 2:50 am (IST). During this time, users may face issues while using internet banking and SBI apps like YONO and YONO Lite.

What Will Work During This Time?

Even though OTP services may be affected, SBI has assured that many options will still work.

Customers can continue transactions using:

ATM services

UPI payments

SBI Secure OTP

SBI Authenticator

These alternatives are expected to function without interruption.

What is SBI Secure OTP?

SBI Secure OTP is a mobile app that helps generate one-time passwords directly on your phone.

Instead of waiting for an SMS, you can instantly get OTPs while using SBI internet banking or the YONO Lite app.

This makes transactions faster and more reliable.

What is SBI Authenticator?

SBI Authenticator is another secure verification option offered by the bank.

It gives users multiple ways to approve transactions, such as:

App-based approval notifications

QR code verification

OTP generated within the app

This reduces dependence on SMS and improves security.

How to Generate a Secure OTP

You can easily generate an OTP while making a transaction.

Just use the online OTP mode, which requires an internet connection (mobile data or Wi-Fi).

The OTP will be generated instantly within the app.

How to Register for SBI Secure OTP

Getting started with SBI Secure OTP is simple:

Download and open the app

Enter your username

Verify your mobile number via SMS

Enter your password and accept terms

Input the OTP received on your phone

Set your MPIN

After this, you’ll receive an activation code on your registered mobile number.

Make sure to complete the activation within 10 minutes by logging into SBI’s online banking portal.
