There is an important update for people getting benefits under pension schemes in Uttar Pradesh.
The government has made a major change in the rules for verifying age.
If you or someone in your family is applying for pension benefits, this update is very important to know.
Aadhaar No Longer Valid for Age Proof
Till now, many people used their Aadhaar card as proof of age.
But under the new rules, Aadhaar will no longer be accepted for age verification in pension schemes.
This change applies to schemes like the Old Age Pension and National Family Benefit Scheme.
According to officials, only these documents will now be valid:
Certified copy of the family register
Educational certificate that shows date of birth
Without these documents, age will not be verified.
New Rule Effective Immediately
As per the instructions shared by District Social Welfare Officer Vijay Laxmi Maurya, the new rule has come into effect immediately.
This means applicants must now upload the correct documents while applying.
The same rule will also apply when verifying the age of a deceased person under the National Family Benefit Scheme.
Important Warning for Applicants
If you have already applied and only uploaded your Aadhaar card, you need to act quickly.
Applicants on the waiting list must upload valid documents like the family register or educational certificate on the portal.
If you fail to update these documents, your application may be rejected and will not be processed further.
What You Should Do Now
All applicants and public service center operators have been asked to strictly follow these new rules.
To avoid any problems, make sure you upload the correct documents as soon as possible.
This small step can ensure that your pension benefits are not delayed or cancelled.
