8th Pay Commission Extends Response Deadline to March 31, 2026

An important update has emerged regarding the 8th Pay Commission. The Commission has extended the deadline for submitting responses to its 18-question questionnaire.

Now, employees, pensioners, and others can submit their suggestions until March 31, 2026. Earlier, the deadline was March 16, 2026.

The government launched the official website for the 8th Pay Commission in February 2026. The questionnaire, which covers topics like salary, pension, allowances, and working conditions, is available on this website.

Who Can Participate?

The questionnaire is open not only to government employees but also to several other groups, including:

Central government employees

Pensioners

Ministries and departments

Employees of states and union territories

Judicial officers and court employees

Unions and employee organizations

Researchers, teachers, and general public

This shows that the government wants as many opinions as possible to make informed decisions about salaries and facilities.

Interested participants can submit their responses online by visiting the official 8th Pay Commission website: 8cpc.gov.in.

Current Status of the Commission

The 8th Pay Commission recently started its work in the capital. Its Terms of Reference (ToR) were issued in November 2025.

The Commission has 18 months to submit its recommendations. However, it is not yet clear when these recommendations will be implemented.
