The Department of Posts is introducing a new service called “24 Speed Post” to ensure fast, safe, and reliable delivery across India.
This service will officially start on March 17, 2026, and will guarantee next-day delivery for important parcels and documents.
The formal launch will take place at the Rang Bhavan Auditorium in All India Radio Bhawan, New Delhi, with senior officials from the Postal Department in attendance.
This service is especially useful for individuals and companies who need to quickly send urgent documents, contracts, medical reports, or business parcels.
Initial Launch and Delivery Promise
In the first phase, 24 Speed Post will be available in six major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
Parcels sent between these cities will have D+1 delivery, meaning a parcel booked today will arrive the next day.
The Postal Department will offer two service categories:
24 Speed Post: Next-day delivery (D+1)
48 Speed Post: Delivery within two days (D+2)
To ensure fast delivery, special processing windows and priority air transmission have been established. This allows parcels to be processed quickly and sent by air.
Security, Tracking, and Business Features
The service emphasizes security and tracking. It includes OTP-based secure delivery, so an OTP is sent to the recipient’s mobile number before delivery to ensure the parcel reaches the correct person.
Customers can also track parcels at every stage with end-to-end tracking and receive SMS updates.
For business customers, several features have been added:
BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) facility
Free pickup for large bookings
API integration
Centralized billing system
These features are designed to benefit e-commerce companies, startups, and small businesses.
Money-Back Guarantee and Future Impact
The Postal Department offers a money-back guarantee if delivery is not made within the promised time. The government expects this service to strengthen India Post’s premium express delivery capabilities
and make it more competitive compared to private courier companies.
With the growing demand for fast and reliable logistics in the digital age, 24 Speed Post is a significant initiative to improve government postal services with new technology and better convenience.
