Direct Varanasi–Bangkok Flight: A Big Relief for Travelers
With this new route, passengers from Purvanchal and Bihar will no longer need to travel to Delhi or Kolkata for international flights.
People from cities like Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mau, Jaunpur, Prayagraj, Patna, Gaya, Buxar, and Sasaram will now get direct access to Bangkok.
Earlier, travelers had to spend extra time and money reaching metro cities before flying abroad.
The direct flight will reduce travel time and significantly cut overall expenses.
Why Varanasi Got Preference Over Lucknow
Air India Express decided to discontinue the Lucknow–Bangkok service due to low passenger demand.
Instead, the airline shifted the route to Varanasi, which sees higher demand from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Officials believe that flights from Varanasi will attract more passengers and make the route sustainable.
Thousands of people from this region travel to Southeast Asia every year for tourism, business, and religious purposes, making Varanasi a stronger choice.
Flight Timings and Schedule
As per the airline’s schedule, flight IX-215 will depart from Varanasi at 12:35 pm and reach Bangkok at 6:05 pm.
The return flight IX-216 will leave Bangkok at 7:05 pm and arrive in Varanasi at 9:35 pm.
These timings are considered convenient for international travelers.
