Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country’s largest public sector insurance company, has warned customers about misleading advertisements using its brand name.

The company has said that some fake ads are being circulated on social media platforms.

These advertisements wrongly use the images of LIC’s senior or former officials, along with the company’s name and logo, without permission.

Be Careful of Fraud on Social Media

In a public notice, LIC advised its policyholders and the general public to stay alert and verify the authenticity of any such advertisements.

The company stated that it has noticed some individuals and organizations spreading fraudulent ads on social media by misusing official photographs, the LIC brand name, and its logo.

LIC clearly mentioned that these activities are misleading and have been carried out without the company’s consent.

Report Fake Advertisement Links to LIC

LIC has requested the public to report the URL links of these fake advertisements through its official social media accounts.

The company said it will take strict legal action against anyone found misusing its brand name or logo for fraudulent purposes.

LIC also assured that it is fully committed to protecting its policyholders and the public from being misled by such false advertisements.
