Vodafone Idea (Vi) has rolled out a special offer for its prepaid users.

Now, a simple data recharge can do more than just give you internet access.

Vi is offering free handset loss insurance of up to ₹25,000 with select data packs.

For this benefit, Vi has partnered with Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company.

The insurance is valid across India and covers phone loss or theft.

Here’s a simple breakdown of the offer and how it works.

Vi’s New Data Packs with Insurance

Vi has introduced three prepaid data packs to suit different user needs.

The highest-priced plan costs ₹251. It offers 10GB of data with a validity of 30 days.

The big advantage is that the handset insurance remains active for a full 365 days.

Even a single recharge can keep your phone insured for an entire year.

Cheaper Plans Also Get Insurance

Vi has also launched two more affordable options.

The ₹201 plan provides 10GB of data for 30 days and includes handset insurance for 180 days.

This is a good choice for users looking for lower cost with decent coverage.

The most budget-friendly option is the ₹61 plan.

It offers 2GB of data for 15 days and comes with handset insurance valid for 30 days.

Important Conditions You Should Know

These plans are data-only packs.

They do not include service validity.

To get the insurance benefit, your Vi number must already have an active base plan.

Without an existing plan, the insurance will not be activated.

How to Claim the Free Handset Insurance

To use this insurance, your smartphone must be linked to your Vi number and should not be more than three years old.

After recharging with an eligible pack, you will receive an SMS from Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company asking you to complete phone registration within 48 hours.

Once registered, the insurance company will assess your phone’s current value and provide coverage up to ₹25,000.

In case of loss or theft, the claim will be handled directly by the insurance company, with Vi providing support during the process.
