Union Minister Jitendra Singh has announced a special train service between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to handle the rising number of passengers.
The service comes as more devotees plan visits to the popular shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Northern Railway will operate Special Train No. 04081/04082 on December 12 and 13, 2025.
The minister shared the update on X (formerly Twitter).
Train Timings and Key Stops
Train No. 04081 will depart from New Delhi at 11:45 pm and reach Katra the next day at 12:00 pm.
It will stop at major stations such as Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu and Udhampur (Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan).
This special service has been planned as winter flight cancellations and a surge in travellers have created a heavy rush.
To ease travel, Indian Railways scheduled 89 special services and over 100 trips between December 6 and December 9 across different zones.
