Book Railway Tickets instantly with AVTMs

Good news for train travelers — you no longer need to stand in long lines to get your general or platform tickets.

Indian Railways is rolling out Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (AVTMs) at railway stations across the country.

These machines make it quick and simple to book unreserved tickets, platform tickets, and even renew season passes, saving both time and effort.

Why AVTMs Are a Game-Changer

During festivals or rush hours, ticket counters often get overcrowded, forcing passengers to wait in long queues — and sometimes even miss their trains.

With AVTMs, that hassle is gone.

Now, passengers can book their tickets instantly at the station without visiting the counter.

The process is fast, digital, and easy to use — even for first-timers.

How to Use an AVTM

Booking a ticket through an Automatic Ticket Vending Machine is simple.

Here’s how you can do it:

Go to the AVTM at your railway station.

Select your destination using the map displayed on the screen.

Choose your travel route and the number of tickets you want.

Move to the payment section, where you’ll see different payment options.

You can make the payment in two ways:

Using UPI: Scan the QR code displayed on the screen through your preferred UPI app, complete the payment, and collect your ticket.

Using a Smart Card or Rail Wallet: Insert your Railway Smart Card in the reader or pay via Rail Wallet using the UTS app on your phone.

Once the payment is successful, your ticket will be printed immediately — no human interaction or waiting required.

Easy Travel, Anytime

Indian Railways has already installed AVTMs at major stations nationwide, and more are being added every month.

These machines are designed to make ticketing faster, contactless, and stress-free, helping passengers travel more conveniently — especially during busy travel seasons.

With AVTMs, getting a ticket is now just a few taps away.
