Rain and Thunderstorm alerts for Central and Eastern India

The heavy rainfall affecting many parts of the country due to the cyclonic storm is expected to reduce from November 1.

However, some areas — including Bihar, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh — will continue to receive rain.

A new western disturbance is also likely to impact North India after November 3, which could bring snowfall in the hilly regions and rain in the plains.

Rainfall Update for Eastern India

On November 1, heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim.

After this date, rainfall activity is expected to reduce significantly in these regions.

In addition, thunderstorms and strong winds (30–40 kmph) may occur in Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha on November 1.

Rain and Lightning Alerts for Central India

In western Madhya Pradesh, heavy rain is expected on November 1, while thunderstorms will continue in both eastern and western Madhya Pradesh for the next three days.

Lightning warnings have been issued for Madhya Pradesh on November 2 and for western Madhya Pradesh on November 3.

Western Disturbance to Bring Snow and Rain in North India

A fresh western disturbance will begin affecting the western Himalayan region from the night of November 3.

Under its influence, light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely over northwest India between November 4 and 6.

As per forecasts, thunderstorms are expected in the Jammu and Kashmir–Ladakh region on November 4, along with lightning in western Madhya Pradesh on the same day.
