With the festive season approaching, travel demand is soaring.
Just like Railways run special trains, airlines are now introducing festival special flights.
SpiceJet has already started new flights to Delhi and Bengaluru, and Air India Express will operate additional flights from Dhanteras to Chhath Puja to help residents of Bihar travel home comfortably.
New Flights and Schedules
Air India Express has announced one new flight each from Patna to Delhi and Bengaluru.
These flights will run daily from October 18th (Dhanteras) to October 26th (Kharna).
SpiceJet had earlier launched new flights to these cities starting October 9th.
Between October 18th and 26th:
17 flights will operate from Patna to Delhi
9 flights will operate from Patna to Bengaluru
Currently, Patna Airport has 45 flights, which will increase to 47 with these additions.
Bookings for the new flights are now open.
This expansion is in response to high demand for air tickets during the festive season.
Flight Timings and Destinations
The new flight schedule for Air India Express is as follows:
Delhi to Patna (IX 1053): Departs 9:30 AM, arrives 11:20 AM
Patna to Delhi (IX 1054): Departs 11:55 AM, arrives 1:45 PM
Bengaluru to Patna (IX 2651): Departs 9:00 AM, arrives 11:45 AM
Patna to Bengaluru (IX 2651): Departs 12:20 PM, arrives 3:10 PM
Currently, direct flights from Patna are available to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Ranchi, Lucknow, Hindon, Guwahati, and Bhubaneswar.
These festival special flights aim to ease travel for Bihar residents during Diwali and Chhath Puja, making it easier to reach home on time.
