As August 2025 begins, several important changes have come into effect that will directly impact your daily life and expenses.
These updates are related to UPI transactions, LPG cylinder prices, and SBI credit cards.
New Rules for UPI Transactions
Some key changes have been made to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI):
You can now check your bank balance through UPI only 50 times per day in total.
For each linked bank account, the balance check limit is 25 times per day.
Rules for automatic scheduled payments (like subscriptions and EMIs) have also changed.
These payments can now be scheduled in three separate time slots to reduce system overload.
LPG Cylinder Price Cut Offers Relief
There is some good news for consumers:
From August 1, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has been reduced by ₹33.50.
This is the second price cut in two months and will benefit restaurants, hotels, and small businesses.
However, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.
SBI Credit Card Benefits Updated
If you use SBI co-branded credit cards (like Prime, Platinum, or Elite), take note:
The free air insurance offered with these cards will end on August 11, 2025.
Earlier, these cards provided free insurance cover ranging from ₹50 lakh to ₹1 crore.
These changes will impact SBI card users, especially those who rely on these benefits for travel.
Plan Your Budget Accordingly
These changes will affect UPI users, LPG consumers, and SBI cardholders. It’s a good idea to adjust your financial planning and spending habits in line with the new rules.
