Akasa Air is all set to launch its first international route, connecting Kochi to Jeddah with direct flights.
The new service will begin on July 13, 2025, with four round trips per week. Ahead of this, the airline will operate two special flights on June 29 and July 6.
This new route is part of Akasa’s expansion plan, focusing on Indian expats and religious travellers going to Saudi Arabia.
Meeting High Travel Demand
Saudi Arabia has a large Indian population and is a major destination for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
By flying to Jeddah—the main entry point to Mecca—Akasa aims to serve both religious and work-related travel needs, offering affordable fares and timely schedules.
Flights from Kochi to Jeddah will run on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, with timings suited for both business and leisure travellers.
Flight Timings and Aircraft Details
Akasa will use the Boeing 737 Max, known for its fuel efficiency and low costs. The aircraft will have an all-economy layout with 186 seats to keep ticket prices low.
Sample schedule:
Saturdays & Mondays:
Depart Kochi at 6:10 PM, arrive in Jeddah at 9:55 PM
Return from Jeddah at 1:00 AM, arrive in Kochi at 6:45 AM
Sundays: Two flights, at 3:00 AM and 8:30 PM
Why Kochi?
Kochi is becoming a strong Tier-2 aviation hub and sees high demand for Middle East-bound travel, especially from Kerala. It’s an ideal launch point for Akasa’s international debut.
Akasa already operates to Abu Dhabi and Doha, and this new Kochi–Jeddah route will further strengthen its position in the Gulf region.
Affordable and Reliable Travel
Akasa aims to provide a simple and comfortable flying experience at budget-friendly prices. Its international strategy sticks to the same goal—offering low-cost travel for workers, families, and pilgrims.
By keeping fares low and flights on time, Akasa is ready to shake up the India–Gulf air travel market.
What’s Next?
The Kochi–Jeddah service is just the start of Akasa’s global expansion. With a growing fleet and rising demand, the airline is expected to add more destinations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries soon.
For Indian travellers seeking affordable international flights, Akasa’s efficient and passenger-friendly model could become a game-changer in the years ahead.
