CGHS Update: Getting treatment under CGHS has now become easier and faster. The government has made the entire process online, so now there’s no need to visit offices or hospitals for treatment approval, medical equipment permission, or payments.
Everything can now be done from home using a phone or computer—without delays or complications.
1. CGHS ID Will Be Linked to PAN Card
Now, every CGHS beneficiary will get a unique ID connected to their PAN card. This will prevent duplication of files for the same person and help maintain a clear treatment record.
2. No More Trouble with Payments
CGHS fee or contribution can now be paid directly on the official website: www.cghs.mohfw.gov.in.
Since it is linked with Bharat Kosh, the payment will be verified automatically—no need for staff approval or signatures.
3. Password Change Required
All existing CGHS users will be asked to change their password after logging into the new website. This step is to ensure better account security.
4. Quick Approval for Medical Equipment
Now, patients won’t have to wait long for approval of machines like oxygen concentrators, CPAP, or BiPAP.
Earlier, this process was done offline and could take weeks. But now, approvals will be online and faster.
5. All Updates via SMS and Email
Whether you apply, get approval, or make a payment—you will now receive notifications through SMS and email. This means no more repeated visits to the office for updates.
6. New myCGHS 2.0 Mobile App Launched
A new mobile app called myCGHS 2.0 is now available on the Google Play Store.
Using this app, you can perform many tasks from home—like card transfer, adding dependents, or changing the card.
7. Other New Features
You can now check your CGHS application status online by yourself. You’ll also receive instant receipts for every task. Plus, there’s a helpdesk and detailed guide available on both the website and the app to assist users.
