Ghar Ghar Solar Scheme: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has launched an affordable rooftop solar plan in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Through its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign, the company is offering rooftop solar systems at a very low initial cost.
You can get started by paying just ₹2,499 for 1 kW, ₹4,999 for 2 kW, and ₹7,999 for 3 kW. Here’s how you can install a solar plant at a low price.
Low Cost with Big Subsidy
The main highlight of the ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ scheme is the low initial cost, which is attracting many consumers.
In addition to this, the government is also offering a major subsidy of up to 40% of the total cost of installation.
TPREL has set a goal of installing 3 lakh rooftop solar systems in Odisha and 10 lakh across India over the next 3 to 5 years.
Install Solar Systems at Lower Cost with These Schemes
People who want to set up rooftop solar systems can benefit from subsidies under central and state government programs.
Under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the central government offers a subsidy of up to ₹78,000 for solar systems up to 3 kW, which is nearly 40% of the total cost.
Similarly, the Odisha government provides extra support — ₹25,000 for 1 kW, ₹50,000 for 2 kW, and ₹60,000 for 3 kW or more.
Tata Power’s Solar Growth Plan
Tata Power, in collaboration with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), is working to expand solar energy across the state.
Last month, Tata Power’s MD and CEO, Praveer Sinha, said the company expects strong performance in utility-scale, manufacturing, and rooftop solar projects.
He also mentioned that with Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) being applied in various sectors, there’s a big opportunity for solar module sales within India.
