The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a scheme launched by the central government in 2019 to support small and marginal farmers.
Under this scheme, the government transfers ₹2,000 every three months (₹6,000 per year) directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers. The amount is paid in three installments:
April to July
August to November
December to March
The scheme was launched by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal in the interim budget of 2019.
The 19th installment was released in February 2025, benefiting around 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.4 crore women.
When Will the 20th Installment Be Released?
Farmers across the country are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment. According to sources, it is expected to be released by the end of June 2025, although the official date has not been confirmed yet.
Who is Eligible for the Scheme?
To receive benefits under the PM Kisan scheme, farmers must meet the following criteria:
Must be an Indian citizen
Should own land suitable for farming
Must be a small or marginal farmer
Should not be an income tax payer
Should receive a monthly pension less than ₹10,000
e-KYC is Mandatory
To get the payment, e-KYC is compulsory. Without it, the money will not be transferred to the account. There are two ways to complete e-KYC:
OTP-based e-KYC:
Visit PM Kisan Portal and log in using your registered number.
Biometric-based e-KYC:
Visit your nearest CSC (Common Service Centre).
How to Check Your Name in the Beneficiary List
To check your payment status:
Go to PM Kisan Portal
Click on “Know Your Status”
Enter your registration number and the captcha
Click on “Get Data”
To check the full beneficiary list:
Click on “Beneficiary List” on the portal
Select your State, District, Block, and Village
Click on “Get Report”
You will see the full list of beneficiaries
How to Register as a New Farmer
If you’re a new applicant, follow these steps:
Visit PM Kisan Portal
Click on “New Farmer Registration”
Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha
Fill in all your personal and farming details
Click “Yes” to submit your form
