Online fraud cases are rising every day. Most of these scams target users’ personal information and bank accounts.
To help protect its users, Airtel has launched a new fraud detection service.
This service aims to keep users safe from scams on OTT apps, social media, messaging apps, and harmful websites on the Internet.
According to Airtel, the service uses artificial intelligence (AI) and a multi-level intelligence platform to guard against scams. It filters domains across various platforms and blocks malicious websites.
Real-time Blocking of Harmful Websites
Airtel’s fraud detection tool can detect and block harmful websites in real-time.
It helps ensure user safety by preventing scams across OTT apps, email services, web browsers, social media platforms like Instagram
and Facebook, and messaging services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and SMS.
Whenever an Airtel user tries to visit a malicious website, the tool blocks the page from loading and redirects the user to a different page explaining why it was blocked.
Automatically Enabled for All Users
Airtel’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Gopal Vittal, said, “Our AI-based tool monitors internet traffic, checks global data sources and our own threat database in real-time to block scam websites.”
The service will be automatically activated for all Airtel mobile and broadband users. The best part is that Airtel will not charge any extra fees for this service.
It has been launched in the Haryana circle and will soon be expanded to other regions in the country.
