To accommodate the increasing number of devotees and passengers during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a new direct flight service will begin from Ranchi to Prayagraj. This service will be available from 17 February to 28 February.
Indigo Airlines will operate a 180-seater flight on this route. The plane will arrive at Ranchi Airport from Prayagraj at 11:30 am and depart from Ranchi at 12:00 noon, after a half-hour turnaround.
Flight Frequency and Potential Expansion
The flight will operate three days a week—on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Passengers can book tickets soon.
If passenger demand remains steady during this period, the airline may consider making the flight service permanent.
Currently, passengers traveling from Ranchi to Prayagraj have to use connecting flights via Kolkata, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
Presently, around 250 passengers travel this route using other airports. This new direct flight service will greatly ease their travel and reduce costs.
Daily Train Service from Koderma for Maha Kumbh
In addition to the new flight service, daily trains are being operated from various stations in Jharkhand to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh. From Koderma, devotees are traveling by train, bus, and other vehicles.
Over 25,000 devotees have already participated in the Kumbh bath.
Led by Mahamandaleshwar Sukhdev Das Ji Maharaj of Koderma Dhwajdhari Dham, accommodation, prasad, and devotional programs are being organized for the devotees.
On February 8, the Dhanbad Tundla Express (train number 03695) was operated, carrying 348 passengers from Dhanbad, 136 from Koderma,
and 20 from Parasnath. The train had 7 sleeper coaches, fully booked with 504 berths filled at just three stations.
The train departs from Tundla at 4:20 pm on February 9 and will stop at several stations in Bihar before reaching Dhanbad the following day around noon.
