WhatsApp to Introduces New Feature to Add Guests to Chat Events

WhatsApp is constantly updating its platform with new features to improve user experience and keep everything within one app.

According to a report, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to add extra guests to chat events.

WABetainfo, a website tracking WhatsApp updates, has shared details about this feature.

Users will soon be able to not only create events within chats but also invite additional guests.

This feature is already being rolled out to some beta testers and will likely be available to more users soon.

How the Feature Will Work

WABetainfo recently reported that WhatsApp is testing new features related to chat events.

In a previous update, WhatsApp allowed users to create events directly in personal chats to improve one-on-one communication.

Now, with the WhatsApp beta 2.25.3.17 update, WhatsApp is adding the ability to invite extra guests to these events.

Beta testers are already experiencing this feature, where event invitations can include an option for guests to confirm if they plan to bring someone along.

This will help the event organizer better prepare for the event by knowing how many people will be attending.

Event Creator’s Control Over Guest Invitations

When creating an event, the event organizer will have control over whether guests can bring others. If this option is disabled, only the invited people can attend.

However, if enabled, attendees can indicate whether they are bringing extra guests. This gives more flexibility in event planning.

This feature can be beneficial in many situations. For example, in business events like networking meetings, employees can bring colleagues or business partners.

For social gatherings, such as birthday parties or family events, guests can let organizers know if they’re bringing along friends or partners.

This helps the organizer make better arrangements like seating, food, and venue size. For professional meetings or workshops, it ensures accurate attendee counts.

In other cases, like when someone needs to bring an assistant, the feature also proves helpful.

Currently, this feature is available to some WhatsApp beta testers using the latest update for Android and will be available to more users in the coming weeks.
