Last year, WhatsApp introduced animated emojis using Lottie, a lightweight animation framework.

Lottie helps developers create high-quality animations without increasing file size or affecting performance.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that animates the tabs in the bottom navigation bar.

This feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.9.4 on the Google Play Store.

Encouraged by the positive feedback from the Lottie animations, WhatsApp plans to introduce more animated elements in the future.

For now, the animated navigation bar is available only to beta testers, but once testing is complete, a stable version will be released for all users worldwide.

Share Music from Spotify in WhatsApp Status

WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that allows users to share music from Spotify in their status updates.

WABetaInfo reports that this option will appear at the bottom of the Spotify app screen when sharing a song.

Additionally, WhatsApp will integrate a ‘Play on Spotify’ button in the status updates. This feature is currently in beta testing and is expected to be available to all users soon.
