Apple introduced its Apple Intelligence features with the iPhone 16 lineup last year, benefiting select devices.
Now, it has been revealed that iOS 18.4 is expected to roll out in India by April. This update will enhance Siri’s commands and improve overall device functionality for users.
Currently, Indian users can access Apple Intelligence by setting their language to US English or Canadian English.
Besides India, these features are already available in countries like Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK.
With the official confirmation of the April rollout in India, here are the 5 key features included in this update:
Smarter Siri with AI-Powered Features
The most significant upgrade will be in Siri’s intelligence. Siri will become smarter and capable of completing many tasks just through voice commands. Users will also receive personalized suggestions to make interactions even easier.
Personal Context
Siri will now remember details about you and provide recommendations based on past interactions.
For example, Siri can recall information like your email or passport number and answer continuous questions related to one another.
For instance, after asking, “Hey Siri, how is the weather in Delhi?” you can follow up with “How is the traffic?” to get updated traffic conditions for the city.
On-Screen Awareness
Apple Intelligence enables Siri to interact with the content on your screen. For example, if a contact card appears on your screen, you can ask Siri to save it directly in your address book. Similarly, you can command Siri to make a call to any visible phone number.
Enhanced App Integration and New Emojis
Taking Action in Apps
Siri will now work seamlessly across different apps, allowing users to complete tasks without switching between them.
For example, you can send an email just by saying, “Hey Siri, send that email I drafted last month,” or edit photos using voice commands.
New Emojis
As with every major iOS update, new emojis will be introduced. Unicode Consortium has revealed that the update will include emojis like a fingerprint, a face with dark circles, root vegetables, and a shovel.
Apple has also temporarily paused its News Summary feature but may reintroduce an improved version in future updates.
