Airtel Removes Data Benefits from Two Prepaid Plans

Bharti Airtel, the second-largest telecom company in India, has made a major change that affects many of its customers.

The company has permanently removed the data benefits from two of its prepaid plans—Rs 509 and Rs 1999.

This means that customers recharging with these plans will no longer receive the internet benefits they once did, and will now need to recharge separately for data.

Now, customers who recharge with these plans will need to pay separately for data.

Essentially, this makes the Rs 509 and Rs 1999 plans more expensive for users who need internet.

Changes to Airtel’s Rs 509 Prepaid Plan

Now: The Rs 509 plan now provides a validity of 84 days, along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily. Customers will also receive an Apollo 24|7 subscription and a free hello tune.

Earlier: The plan used to offer 6GB of data, in addition to the benefits of unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily.

Changes to Airtel’s Rs 1999 Prepaid Plan

Now: The Rs 1999 plan offers unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily, with a validity of 365 days. It also includes an Apollo 24|7 subscription

and a free hello tune, making it ideal for users looking for a long-term plan without data benefits.

Earlier: This plan used to come with 24GB of data, alongside unlimited calling and 100 SMS daily.

Now, users will need to recharge separately for data in both plans, increasing the overall cost of these plans.
