Delhi Driver Fined Rs 2 lakh for Multiple Violations

In recent years, the number of vehicles on the roads has significantly increased. Electric and CNG vehicles are now more common compared to diesel and petrol vehicles.

To address these issues, a new update has been introduced with the start of the new year. Under this update, breaking traffic rules can lead to fines as high as ₹2 lakh.

Despite changes made by the government under the Motor Vehicle Act in 2019, there is still a lack of compliance with traffic regulations.

Driver Fined Over ₹2 Lakh for Violations

A recent incident in Delhi highlights the severity of traffic rule enforcement. A driver named Ram Kishan was fined ₹2,00,500 for multiple violations.

He was caught driving an overloaded vehicle with incomplete insurance and fitness certificates. Strict action was taken by the police, resulting in the hefty fine.

Follow Traffic Rules to Avoid Heavy Fines

Drivers must remember that violating traffic rules can lead to substantial penalties. For instance, there is a fine of ₹20,000 for driving an overloaded vehicle.

Additionally, if the weight exceeds the prescribed limit, an extra ₹2,000 is charged per ton.

Authorities have urged four-wheeler drivers to follow traffic rules diligently to avoid facing severe consequences. Ignoring the rules can be an expensive mistake.
