Railways to Rehire Retired Employees Below 65 Years of Age

The Indian Railways has decided to offer job opportunities to its retired employees.

This initiative aims to address the staff shortage while benefiting from the expertise of experienced personnel. Retired employees under the age of 65 years are eligible for this opportunity.

Recruitment for 25,000 Posts Across All Zones

Railways plans to hire 25,000 retired employees for various positions. Priority will be given to supervisors, trackmen, and other skilled roles.

This recruitment drive will be conducted across all railway zones in India.

Notably, these positions are exclusively for retired employees, allowing them to continue contributing their skills to the organization.

Age, Fitness, and Work Record Criteria

Only employees under the age of 65 and medically fit can apply. Initial appointments will last for two years, with extensions based on performance and efficiency.

Additionally, the railways will review the candidate’s work record from the last five years

and check for any pending investigations. Employees with ongoing inquiries will not be eligible for the program.

Salary and Benefits

Rehired employees will receive the same salary as current staff, but their basic pension amount will be deducted.

They will also enjoy benefits like travel allowances. This initiative not only provides financial advantages for retired employees but also allows the railways to leverage their valuable experience.
