The Uttar Pradesh government has provided a significant relief to ration card holders by extending the deadline for mandatory e-KYC by three months.
Initially, the e-KYC was required to be completed by December 31, but the new deadline is now set for March 2025.
As per the District Supply Officer (DSO), ration card holders will need to complete the e-KYC for all their family members by visiting the ration shops.
Government’s Directive for e-KYC of All Members
As per Amar Ujala media reports, the government has instructed that e-KYC be completed for all members listed under each ration card.
While the process has been ongoing for several months, only 67 percent of the e-KYC work has been completed so far.
This means around 33 percent of ration card units still have not completed the e-KYC process.
Anjani Kumar Singh, the District Supply Officer of Kheri, stated that the e-KYC process for all members included in the ration card is continuing.
67% of e-KYC Completed, 33% Pending
In Kheri district, e-KYC has been completed for about 67% of ration card holders. However, 33% of cardholders still need to complete the process.
The government has warned that if e-KYC is not completed, ration services may be halted.
e-KYC Made Mandatory to Identify Fake Units
The government is using e-KYC to identify fake units. Any fake unit linked to a ration card will be removed. This measure aims to ensure transparency in ration distribution.
Server Issues Delay Work, but Progress Continues
The e-KYC process is underway in Sultanpur district, with 70% of the work completed. However, progress is slowing due to server issues.
District Supply Officer Jeevesh Kumar stated that ration card holders will need to visit the fair price shop with the Aadhaar cards of all their family members.
Complete e-KYC Process Without Delay
The government has issued clear instructions that ration card holders without e-KYC will no longer receive ration. Therefore, all beneficiaries must complete the process on time.
How to Complete e-KYC?
Ration card holders can complete e-KYC by visiting their nearest ration shop. They must carry both their Aadhaar card and ration card.
This process ensures that only eligible beneficiaries receive government scheme benefits.
It is important to note that this step by the UP government is aimed at ensuring transparency and fairness in ration distribution.
E-KYC will help eliminate fake units and ensure the benefits reach the right beneficiaries. With the deadline extended, ration card holders should complete the process soon.
