RTGS Transactions Temporarily unavailable at ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank has announced scheduled maintenance from 11:55 PM on December 14, 2024, to 6:00 AM IST on December 15, 2024.

During this period, all RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) transactions—both incoming and outgoing—will be delayed.

The bank has informed its customers about this through an email alert.

What is RTGS?

RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) is a system used for transferring large amounts of money between bank accounts instantly.

It ensures quick and secure fund transfers, making it suitable for high-value transactions.

Alternative Options During Maintenance

While RTGS services are unavailable, customers can use other options like NEFT, IMPS, or UPI for their transactions.

For online transactions via iMobile or Internet Banking, ICICI Bank does not charge fees. However, branch transactions come with these charges:

Rs 20 + GST for amounts between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.

Rs 45 + GST for amounts between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh.

How to Make an RTGS Transfer?

To make an RTGS transfer, customers need these details:

1) The amount to be transferred.

2) Sender’s account number.

3) Beneficiary’s bank and branch details.

4) Beneficiary’s full name and account number.

5) The IFSC code of the beneficiary’s bank branch.

Steps for RTGS Transfers via ICICI Net Banking

1) Log in to your account and register the beneficiary.

2) Go to ‘Payments and Transfer’ and select ‘Funds Transfer’.

3) Click ‘Add a Payee’ and choose ‘Other Bank Payee’.

4) Enter the beneficiary’s account details or credit card number.

5) Select the correct IFSC code by choosing the bank and branch.

6) Click ‘Add’ and confirm the details.

7) Complete OTP authentication. Once verified, the beneficiary will be ready for transactions.

RTGS Timing and Scheduling

RTGS transactions are usually completed within 30 minutes after being initiated. Additionally, customers can schedule their RTGS transactions up to 3 working days in advance.
