Temperatures have dropped below 10°C in many areas. Meanwhile, South India is experiencing ongoing rain.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala,
and Karnataka tomorrow. Additionally, dense fog will be seen from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Cold Weather in Delhi-NCR and Kashmir
Delhi-NCR
The cold weather in Delhi-NCR is increasing. On Wednesday, Delhi recorded the second coldest night of the season with a minimum temperature of 10.4°C, slightly above the normal temperature.
The IMD has predicted the temperature will drop to 9°C tonight. They also forecast that the daytime temperature will decrease over the next few days, making the cold stronger.
Kashmir
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir experienced the coldest night of the season. The night temperature dropped below zero in most areas of the Kashmir valley.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar was -2.1°C, down from -0.6°C the previous night.
The weather department expects temperatures to drop further, and heavy snowfall is expected in most areas.

Cyclone ‘Fengal’ and Rain Alerts in Tamil Nadu
Cyclone ‘Fengal’ is moving towards the Tamil Nadu coast and is expected to reach in a day or two. Heavy rains have already started in five districts, including Chengalpet.
As a precaution, schools have been closed in many districts. The Navy is on alert as well.
The deep depression in the southwest Bay of Bengal has been moving north at a speed of 2 km per hour. It is expected to turn into a cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Chennai and surrounding districts and an orange alert for the delta districts, with heavy to very heavy rains expected.
More Rain and Fog Forecast
Due to Cyclone Fengal, heavy to very heavy rain is also expected in Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka.
South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Raisima will also experience heavy rain.
Additionally, fog will cover Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, and northern parts of Bihar tomorrow.
