In India, most people rely on UPI for payments, and to make it even more convenient, Paytm has launched a new feature called UPI Lite Auto Top-Up.
This feature is aimed at simplifying small, everyday transactions by ensuring your wallet balance is always sufficient.
How Does UPI Lite Auto Top-Up Work?
The auto top-up feature lets users set a minimum balance for their Paytm UPI Lite wallet.
When the wallet balance drops below this limit, funds are automatically transferred from the linked bank account. The process does not require a PIN, making it hassle-free.
1) Users can set a reload limit of up to Rs 500 per transaction.
2) The maximum reload amount per transaction is Rs 2,000, with up to five top-ups allowed in a day.
3) For example, if a user sets a limit of Rs 100, the wallet will automatically reload whenever the balance falls below Rs 100.
Currently, this feature is available only for Paytm UPI Lite wallets linked with Yes Bank and Axis Bank. However, other banks like SBI and HDFC Bank are expected to join soon.
Perfect for Small Payments
The UPI Lite auto top-up is ideal for small-value transactions like recharging metro cards, paying for auto rides, or buying tea, coffee, or breakfast.
You don’t need to worry about running out of balance as the auto top-up ensures your wallet is always funded.
How to Enable UPI Lite Auto Top-Up
To activate this feature, follow these steps:
1) Open the Paytm app and link your bank account to enable UPI Lite.
2) Choose the automatic top-up option.
3) Set a minimum wallet balance limit for the auto top-up.
What is UPI Lite?
UPI Lite is a feature introduced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for small-value payments. It works as an on-device wallet linked to your bank account.
1) Users can make payments below Rs 500 without needing an OTP or PIN.
2) The wallet can hold up to Rs 2,000, and users can spend up to Rs 2,000 daily.
This new feature makes UPI Lite even more convenient, especially for quick and frequent transactions.
