Cyclone Dana has caused heavy rain and weather changes after making landfall on Odisha’s coast.
In Bihar, several districts are experiencing rain, while the cyclone has also affected the weather in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
Cloud cover has persisted over many UP districts for the past 24 hours, leading to a drop in temperature due to the arrival of moist winds.
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for seven eastern UP districts for October 26.
Rain Forecast for Several UP Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected in Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra on October 26.
Light rain may also affect 17 southeastern UP districts, including Fatehpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kushinagar, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Deoria, Mau, and Ballia, on October 27.
Additionally, rain may continue in southeastern areas on October 28, although western UP is likely to remain dry during this period.
Rain, Strong Winds, and Temperature Drop Expected Until October 29
Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava, a meteorologist from Banaras Hindu University, stated that many eastern UP districts will experience cloudy skies
and occasional light rain for the next three days. Winds reaching speeds of 15-20 km/h may also occur across various areas.
This weather pattern, expected until October 29, will likely lead to a further decrease in temperature, with cloudy skies affecting daytime maximum temperatures.
