Launch of Working Holiday Maker Visa for Indians

Australia has introduced a Working Holiday Maker Visa for Indian citizens.

Assistant Immigration Minister Matt Thistlethwaite announced this new visa program on Monday. A total of 1,000 visas will be available.

High Demand for the Visa

In just two weeks, about 40,000 applications have already been submitted. This visa allows Indians aged 18 to 30 years to live, work, and study in Australia for 12 months.

The visa application process started on October 1 and will continue until the end of the month.

Selection Process and Future Opportunities

Successful applicants will be chosen randomly from the pool of submissions. Those selected will be able to begin their stay in Australia early next year.

Minister Thistlethwaite mentioned that the high number of applications shows great interest.

The Australian Prime Minister highlighted the friendship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming to create better opportunities for young people to experience each other’s cultures.
