Elon Musk Introduces a New Feature on X

If you use X (previously known as Twitter), this update could be significant for you.

Ever since Elon Musk, the world’s richest person and owner of X, took control of this popular micro-blogging platform, he has introduced several interesting changes.

This time, Musk has made another notable update to the platform.

Changes to X’s Blocking Feature

The latest update on X reduces the effectiveness of the blocking feature. Now, if you set any of your posts to “public,” even the users you’ve blocked will be able to see those posts.

However, blocked users will not be able to see how others engage with your post—such as likes, replies, or reposts.

The engineering team at X shared this information via their official X account. Additionally, users who post publicly will now see a pop-up notification informing them about this new feature.

Benefits and Limitations of the New Feature

With this change, blocked users can still view public posts from the person who blocked them. They can also report any abuse from the user who blocked them.

However, users can still use the “Protected Posts” feature to control who sees their posts. If you enable this feature, only your followers will be able to view your posts.

Key Update: Public Post Visibility

X has launched a significant update that affects how blocking works on the platform.

With this new update, users who have set their posts to public can be viewed by people they have blocked.

However, these blocked users will not be able to see the engagement on those public posts, which includes likes, replies, and reposts.

The engineering team of X announced this update through their official account.

Additionally, when you post something publicly, a pop-up notification will appear on your screen to inform you about this new feature.
