In a significant move, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the complete abolition of toll tax for light motor vehicles at all five toll booths entering Mumbai.
This decision was made during a recent state cabinet meeting and will take effect from midnight on Monday.
Relief for Vehicle Owners
The decision brings relief to approximately 2.8 lakh vehicle owners who frequently travel into the city.

Anand Nagar Toll
Vaishali Toll
Airoli Toll
Mulund Toll
The toll fees, which ranged from ₹45 to ₹75, were set to be collected until 2026. On average, about 3.5 lakh vehicles enter and exit Mumbai daily, with 70,000 being heavy vehicles and 2.8 lakh classified as light vehicles.

Minister Bhuse emphasized that this decision aims to save people time by reducing delays caused by toll collections.
