Wayanad Landslides: Airtel offers Free Services and Relief Support

In response to the devastating landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, telecom company Bharti Airtel has announced several relief measures.

The landslides, triggered by heavy rainfall, have caused significant damage, resulting in at least 132 fatalities and over 200 injuries.

Free Services for Affected Customers

Prepaid Customers

Airtel will provide 1 GB of free data, unlimited calling, and 100 SMS daily for three days to prepaid customers whose recharge validity has expired and are unable to top up.

Postpaid Customers

The bill payment due date for all postpaid customers has been extended by 30 days to ensure uninterrupted service.

Relief Material Collection

Airtel has converted all 52 of its retail stores in Kerala into centers for collecting relief material.

Residents are encouraged to donate items at these stores, which will then be forwarded to the local administration for distribution to the affected communities.

Ongoing Relief Efforts

The army has intensified rescue and relief operations in Wayanad.

So far, over 100 people have been confirmed dead, with around 70 bodies recovered and about 1000 individuals rescued.

Airtel’s initiatives aim to support those affected by the disaster and assist in the broader relief efforts.
