Mumbai :
Maharashtra’s ‘Mahayuti Government’ has announced a monthly financial aid plan for students who have passed their 12th grade just before the assembly elections.
Under the ‘Laadla Bhai’ scheme, initiated by the Maharashtra government,
12th grade pass students will receive ₹6,000 monthly, diploma holders ₹8,000, and degree holders ₹10,000.
The scheme was launched on Ashadhi Ekadashi, July 17.
This new initiative, named ‘Laadla Bhai Yojana’, targets youth who have completed their 12th grade.
The opposition in Maharashtra has frequently highlighted the issue of increasing youth unemployment,
and the Shinde government’s financial support announcement appears to address these concerns.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has revealed details of the scheme, stating that 12th grade pass students will receive Rs 6,000 monthly.
Additionally, diploma holders will get Rs 8,000 monthly, and graduates will receive Rs 10,000 monthly.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s announcement in Pandharpur is viewed in light of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections later this year.
The government’s intention behind this announcement is perceived as an effort to appeal to various segments of the population ahead of the elections.
Apprenticeship for Youths
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that the ‘Laadla Bhai’ scheme aims to support young men, following the ‘Laadli Behna’ scheme which focused on women.
Under this initiative, these youths will participate in a one-year apprenticeship in factories to gain valuable work experience.
The government expects this program to cultivate a skilled workforce that will benefit both the state and the country’s industries.
CM Shinde highlighted that this scheme marks a pioneering effort by any government.
He stated, “Our government will financially support youth in our state to undertake apprenticeships in factories. This initiative is unprecedented in history.
It aims to tackle unemployment by providing valuable apprenticeship experience in companies, coupled with a government stipend. This will equip our youth with skills and readiness for employment.”
Recently ‘Laadli Behna Yojana’ was also started
Before the introduction of the ‘Laadla Bhai’ scheme, the ‘Laadli Behna Yojana’ was unveiled during the recent monsoon session of the Maharashtra Assembly.
Presented in the state budget by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, this initiative aims to offer a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 to married and divorced women aged 21-60.
The age limit was later extended to 65 years following an announcement by CM Shinde.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray recently addressed the issue of unemployed youth in Maharashtra.
Following the assembly session, he spoke to the media and advocated for a scheme similar to Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Laadli Behna’ scheme, but tailored for boys in Maharashtra.
Thackeray emphasized that in today’s context, there should be equal opportunities for both boys and girls to benefit from such initiatives.
