IRCTC Introduces Metro Ticket Booking with Rail Tickets

Now, you can book metro tickets from the comfort of your home through the IRCTC app and website, eliminating the need to stand in long queues.

Alongside train tickets, IRCTC now offers the convenience of booking metro tickets in advance.

One India, One Ticket Initiative

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have signed an agreement to promote the ‘One India, One Ticket’ initiative. This deal aims to simplify travel for people in the Delhi-NCR region.

Advance Booking and Cancellation Facilities

Just like train reservations, you can now book metro tickets up to 120 days in advance. Once booked, metro tickets will be valid for four days, compared to the current one-day validity.

This new system will feature QR-coded tickets, which can be printed or saved on your phone.

How to Book Metro Tickets

IRCTC Website and App: Passengers can book metro tickets through the IRCTC website and mobile app.

QR Code Tickets: The tickets will have a QR code that can be printed or saved as a screenshot on your phone for easy access.

Beta Version Available: Currently, a beta version of the IRCTC mobile app is available for Android users, with a full version to be launched after a four-month trial period.

This new feature is expected to reduce long queues at metro stations, making travel more convenient for everyone.
