New Delhi:
The government of India has announced a significant initiative aimed at benefiting millions of farmers across the country.
Under Scheme AGR-2, farmers will receive a 50% subsidy on nano-fertilisers.
This scheme is set to be launched by Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during the current financial year in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Introduction at Cooperative Day Event
Scheme AGR-2 will be formally introduced at a conference in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, coinciding with the 102nd International Cooperative Day and marking the third foundation day of the Union Ministry of Cooperatives.
This event holds special significance following the United Nations’ declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives.
Testing and Implementation Plans
In a move towards sustainable agriculture practices,
the government plans to conduct extensive testing of nano-fertilisers across 513 districts.
This includes 1,270 demonstrations of Nano DAP (liquid) in 413 districts and 200 trials of Nano Urea Plus (liquid) in 100 districts.
These initiatives aim to promote eco-friendly farming methods and reduce reliance on chemical fertilisers in Indian agriculture.
Promotion of Eco-Friendly Farming Practices
